Topic: Flamands Villas Posted: 09 May 2008 at 7:50pm |
My wife and I are looking for a villa in Flamands (within walking distance of the beach).
Any suggestions?

Flamands isn't an area where I stay, so I don't have personal experience there. However, villa Flamands Blue seems to get consistant good reviews. I believe that the owner participates here, and also points his renters here as a source of information.
For alternatives, search on Lumiere, where I think that both Greg and Gayle may have stayed.

Thanks.
Flamands Blue is booked when we would like to go.
Anybody know anything about Villa Triagoz?

i think Greg B had a post about Triagoz somewhere. I was just on the island three weeks ago(staying on Flammands) and while I did not go in, I saw it. Looked nice. Lots of construction going on along Flammands so be careful. Alot of hammering!

How about SIB ART? How does that compare to Triagoz?

There is a beautiful villa at the left side of the beach, I believe his owner is a local guy named Ernest.
Does anybody know how i could get in touch with him? I believe he also just to work for Winair.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum ratta. This is a great Flamands villa and perhaps the owner knows Ernest.

We went to review Villa Traigoz last May. It is a brand new villa located on the downslope of the main road down to IdF. It is nestled into the eastern side of the hillside with a lovely view of the beach and ocean in the distance.
The villa is extremely contemporary in furnishings and amenities (which we love but some find"cold"). The pool is smallish and gets sun a good part of the day. The kitchen is open to the living room and very well equipped. Granite counters, stainless appliances. The rear of the villa has a seating area up against the hillside wall which is furnished for lounging, but in May, when we saw it, it was very, very hot with little air circulation. The two main bedrooms are equal in size, furnishings and amenities and are located on either side of the villa. They have electronically controlled black our/hurricane shutters. The bathrooms are lovely.
Overall the villa is very spacious, well appointed and very nice if you like contemporary style.
The only caution I'd have is that there is a MONSTER villa being built just up the road. I've been told it will take another 18-24 months to complete. It is not within sight of Triagoz but may be within earshot so it's worth asking about that. Also, you can hear some road noise from the villa.

I don't think the two are comparable at all. ART is an older house. It's on two levels. It's a true rental. By that I mean it is lacking in charm and amenities. They've recently put some more up to date furniture in it, but it's an older villa.
Traigoz is top of the line in terms of finishes, amenties, appliances, furnishings and esthetics.
These two are not even in the same league.

Following up on this -- My wife and I did end up at Triagoz and loved it.
For one (or two) couples, it is amazing. The masterbed room has beautiful views. We liked the style of the place. The deck was great, and the pool was big enough for a nice relaxing swim (you can't exactly do laps, but to cool off it is wonderful). The location is just above IDF. The walk down can be a bit of a challenge -- relatively short at five minutes or less, but pretty much straight up or down.
If I was going again with just my wife, I would choose this place in a second. We really enjoyed our stay.

Thanks for sharing the review on villa Triagoz. Pool for cool off and not laps is all we would be looking for. Its always nice to find a pool that gets a lot of sun.
